Parents’ roles in supporting an online learning for kindergarteners during the COVID-19 pandemic

This survey research aimed to study the parents’ role in supporting online learning for kindergarteners during the COVID-19 pandemic regarding three aspects: using positive reinforcement, creating a learning environment, and being a learning facilitator. The population consisted of 72 parents of kindergarten students in grades 1-3 in Chulalongkorn university demonstration elementary school, Academic Year 2021. The research tool for collecting data was an online questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The research results found that parents’ roles in supporting their kindergarteners’ online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic were at a high level (µ = 4.11). The result showed that all aspects were at a high level; using positive discipline was at the highest level (µ = 4.18), followed by creating a learning environment (µ =4.17), and being a learning facilitator (µ =3.97).
