Knowledge, Attitude and Weight Control Behavior of Private University Students in Bangkok Metropolis
The purposes of this study were to investigate: 1) knowledge, attitude and weight control behavior of private university students in Bangkok Metropolis; and 2) the relationship among knowledge, attitude and weight control behavior of private university students in Bangkok Metropolis. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 480 private university students in Bangkok Metropolis. Data were analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Peason’s product moment correlation coefficient.
The results showed that nearly three-fifths of the students had high level of knowledge on weight control, nearly two-thirds of them had neutral attitude toward weight control, and more than three-fifths of them had moderate weight control behaviors.
The relationship among knowledge, attitude and behavior of weight control showed that knowledge about weight control was positively correlated to attitude toward weight control statistically significant at the .05 level. Attitude toward weight control was positively correlated to behavior of weight control statistically significant at the .01 level.
