Abstract

The Study of Mathematics Learning Achievement and Problem Solving Ability of Mathayomsuksa Two Students on  Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable by Using  KWDL Techniques at Thungsiudom School, Changwat Ubon Ratchathani

The purposes of this research were 1) to study students’ mathematics learning achievement on Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable of mathayomsuksa two students by using KWDL techniques and 2) to study mathayomsuksa two students’ ability in solving mathematical problems on Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable  by using KWDL techniques

The sample was 34 mathayomsuksa two students of one classroom at Thungsiudom School in the second semester of the academic year 2014 that was selected by cluster random sampling from 3 classrooms. The instruments in research are consisted of 2 elements . First, the instruments in trial which are 11 lesson plans on  Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable for mathayomsuksa two students by using KWDL techniques. Second, the instruments which has been used for data collection are the mathematics learning  achievement test on  Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable of mathayomsuksa two students, and the mathematics ability test in solving word problems on Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable for mathayomsuksa two students. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were used for analyzing data.

The research findings revealed that 1) the mathematics learning  achievement after learning  was higher than before  learning  and higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance and 2) the students had ability in solving the mathematical word problems on Application of  Linear Equation with One Variable was higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance.
