Abstract

Teaching Satisfaction that Affected Buddhist Monks Teaching Moral Education’s Teaching Efficiency in Bangkok and Vicinity School

The objective of this research was to study of factors of job satisfaction affecting the teaching efficiency of the monks teaching moral education in schools in Bangkok and Vicinity. A set of questionnaires consisting of checklist and rating scale had been constructed. The questionnaires were sent to sample groups, 320 monks teaching Moral Education in schools within Bangkok and Vicinity. The data were analyzed by using percentage mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

The results were as follows:

1. The job satisfaction of the monks teaching Moral Education in the schools as a whole was at the high level. When considering each factor (i.e. achievement, recognition, work itself, responsibility, and advancement) separately, the result was shown as high in all factors.

2. The teaching efficiency of the monk teachers teaching Moral Education in the schools was at the high level.

3. The factors of job satisfaction of the monks teaching Moral Education in the schools that affected the teaching efficiency were resulted at .05. The job satisfaction of the monks could explain 57.40 percent of the variation in the teaching efficiency. The factors that affected the teaching efficiency were achievement, work itself, and responsibility.
