Abstract

The Development of Teachers, School Administrators, and Supervisors Of SamutPrakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 by  Using the Process of Creating a Coaching and Mentoring System

This study aimed to evaluate the research project “Development of Teachers, School Administrators, and Supervisors of SamutPrakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 by Using the Process of Creating a Coaching and Mentoring System” in the context, input, process, and IEST of project (IEST: Impact Evaluation, Effectiveness Evaluation, Sustainability Evaluation, and

Transportability Evaluation).The target population of this study were three groups: 1) teachers, school administrators, and supervisors altogether 100 participants, 2) three coordinators of SamutPrakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 and, 3) eight professors of the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University as their supervisors.

Evaluation found that the project to develop teachers, school administrators, and supervisors was operated properly as planned. The barriers and problems were majority of teachers lacked the confidence to do research in class, using methods of teaching and learning materials were not diverse, there were a lot of other tasks than teaching. Some school administrators and supervisors did not join the ongoing development due to the change of the individuals during project implementation; moreover, their normal workloads and plans that they were to take responsibility made some participants could not participate fully. The results from the project were mostly satisfactory. The participants agreed that the projects had benefits or positive effects than negative. For evaluating the effectiveness, it was found that teachers, school administrators, and the supervisors attended training and development on time and their performance met the criteria. Their work quality remained mostly fair to good. In order to keep the project going, and forwarding for sustainability, the SamutPrakan Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 would form or process projects in each group to continue with its schools.
