Abstract

A Development of Learning Competency Test for Teachers of Bungphra Phitsanuloke Commercial College 

This study aimed to develop the learning competency test for teachers in Bungphra Phitsanuloke commercial college. The researcher conducted the learning competency test that was comprised of four aspects, including 1) competency to draw up lesson plan and course syllabus, 2) competency to design the students’ learning that was appropriated to the age of the learners, 3) competency to select, develop, and build the instructional media to promote students’ learning, and 4) competency to organize the learning activities and classify the level of the learners from the learners’ evaluations in form of 35 multiple choices.

In part of data collection, the researcher selected the research samples to try out the competency test that were 50 teachers who had been working at Suphanburi Vocational College under the Vocational Education Commission to analyze the difficulty index (p-value) and discrimination index (r-value) to set the questions in the competency test. The research population is 57 teachers who had been working at Bungphra Phitsanuloke Commercial College, in academic year of 2014. The competency tests were sent back to the researcher for 50 copies that were around 87.71% of the research population.

The results revealed that the learning competency test were comprised of 18 question items that had 4 multiple choices in each item that got the p-value at the rate between 0.23 – 0.77 and r-value at the rate between 0.21 – 0.73 tested by Bungphra teachers.

The research recommendations were suggested that all items in the learning competency test should be conducted by focusing on the basic knowledge that were provided by the related organization, and the test manual guide also should be published to make the test more effective and applicable using in other schools in the future.
