Abstract

This study aimed to propose guidelines for improving benefits suitable for informal workers in the new section 40 of the Social Security Act. It was conducted mixedly in forms of the documentary research and the field study. The study sample consisted of 115 stakeholders of social security including community leaders and those core leaders of social security networks in Bangkok. The tool was an opinion survey of ways to improve the benefits. The data  were analyzed by using of percentage.

The findings revealed that there were 2 guidelines theist were resulted from the study. One was that to add more benefits according to the old section 40 and not to add the contribution rate and the other was that to add more benefits according to the new section 40 and also to add the contribution rate. Most of the stakeholders wanted the Social Security Office to follow both guidelines at the same time.
