STEM Education Learning Experience Provision to Support Communication Skill of Young Children

Abstract

This research aimed to study the communication  skill  of  young  children  by STEM  education learning experience  provision.  Subjects were 32 males and female preschool children, ranging in ages between 4 to 5 years old. They were studying in kindergarten level1 in the first semester year  2015 in Anubandanchang School, Suphanburi province. The instruments were 24 STEM education  learning  experience  provision plans, the behavioral observation form, and  the test of communication  skill  of  young  children. The quantitative data was  analyzed by mean and standard deviation, and the qualitative data was analyzed by content analysis.

The results of this research showed that preschool children who participated in STEM  education  learning  experience  provision had higher communication  skill posttest score than pretest score. The result of observation showed that the preschool children who participated in STEM education learning experience provision had higher communication skills, including the ability of telling the names of objects, chronological story telling and drawing to allow others know correctly and clearly.
