Tendency of Administration of the Public Universities of Eastern Thailand toward the ASEAN Community in the Next Decade

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study trends of mission administration of the public universities of Eastern Thailand toward the ASEAN Community in the coming decade.

The Ethnographic Delphi Future Research (EDFR) was utilized for research metrology. Sample was on 17 expertise and certified by sample group of 364 people. The results of the research found that the tendency of the public university of Eastern Thailand toward the ASEAN Community in the next decade has had good tendencies. Experts believed that mission administration of the public universities of Eastern Thailand which have been already specified, were suitable and suggested to mission in the following 4 fields:

1) Research and Development Centre of Excellent makes a research between public universities of Eastern Thailand and ASEAN Community for develop eastern area and cooperation of research with the ASEAN Community in a new way for develop high education and new innovation including the universities as a Research Learning Centre. 2) Promotion of Art and Culture Cultural promotion born a network in cultural exchange and lifestyle with ASEAN Community to making electronic media, publishes media that are accessible to both local and international media and state universities in the Eastern Thailand to have unique identities. 3) Academic Services to be effective and link among ASEAN countries. There are information centres on higher education institutions within ASEAN. The exchange of learning, cognitive development, as well as a centre of science gathers knowledge of various domestic and international fields. 4) Production of Graduates there is a gradual exchange of students transfer of credits between Thai universities and universities members of the ASEAN Community and the development of talented graduates with special abilities to move forward the Eastern Thailand.
