The Effectiveness of Health Education Program for Health Literacy Development on Dental Health for Prathomsuksa One Student of Prachaleksombon School in Chachoengsao

The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to study the effectiveness of health education program for health literacy development on dental for prathomsuksa one student of Prachaleksombon school in Chachoengsao province. Sixty-four of elementary school students were selected by random sampling method to be the subjects in this study. Subjects were randomly assigned to the experimental group and control group. They were subjects in the experimental group and the control group equally. The experimental group participated in the health education program focusing on students-centered by Cone of Experience and uses a variety of teaching methods such as lecture method, discussion, brainstorming, multimedias and role playing for 4 weeks, times of 30 minutes. The control group participated in regular health education class. Questionnaire comprised of biosocial data, health literacy development on dental by the researcher was used as an instruments to collect data. Data analysis was made for percentage, mean, standard deviation, paired-samples t-test and independent t-test. The results of the study showed that after participating in the health education program, the experimental group had higher mean scores on health literacy development on dental and than those in the control group at a .05 statistical significance level.Downloads
