Abstract

Research management in universities requires an efficient information system to comprehensively and rapidly support operations. This is particularly important for Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, which emphasizes the creation of knowledge and the development of innovations to meet the needs of the community and society. This study aims to (1) examine the system requirements, (2) develop an information system, and (3) assess user satisfaction with the research management information system. The target group consists of 463 academic personnel, experts evaluating system efficiency, and system users representing four groups: university administrators, research institute administrators, researchers, and relevant agencies. The research instruments include questionnaires, efficiency evaluation forms, and satisfaction assessment forms. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation).

The findings indicate that (1) the overall system requirements are at the highest level, with input factors having the highest average score, followed by process, feedback, and output components; (2) the overall system efficiency is at a the highest level, with security aspects receiving the highest score, followed by responsiveness to user needs and operational capabilities; and (3) overall user satisfaction with the system is at the highest level, with ease of data entry and research coverage receiving the highest scores, followed by appropriate screen design, support for usable data, and the ability to modify information.

The development of this system enhances research management efficiency, reduces process redundancy, promotes collaboration, and supports policy decision-making, ultimately leading to the development of high-quality research that sustainably benefits society.
