Abstract

This study aimed to 1) evaluate the curriculum on earthquakes for youth in Chiang Rai Province, and 2) evaluate the curriculum on earthquakes for people in Chiang Rai Province. The research study has 2 parts: Part 1 evaluate the curriculum on earthquakes for youth in Chiang Rai Province. The target group is a trial group for using the earthquake disaster curriculum for youth, which is 563 youth in 11 districts in Chiang Rai Province. A group evaluating the use of the curriculum is 563 youth, and 10 experts. Part 2 evaluate the curriculum on earthquakes for people in Chiang Rai Province. The target group is a trial group for using the earthquake disaster curriculum for people, which is 199 people in 5 districts in Chiang Rai Province, and the group evaluating the use of the curriculum is 199 people, and 10 experts. The data were analyzed by using mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), and content analysis. The results were as follows:

1.Results of the evaluation of the use of the earthquake disaster curriculum for youth. Chiang Rai Province found that:

1.1 Regarding the elements of the curriculum, it was found that the elements of the curriculum have 9 elements, which are comprehensive, appropriate, and consistent with the context of Chiang Rai province.

1.2 In terms of the process of implementing the curriculum, it was found that there was a combination of knowledge integration and application in the event of an earthquake. There are activities that provide opportunities for participation and hands-on activities.

1.3 The average score of the youth after using the curriculum was higher. The youth agreed with the curriculum at the high level. From the observation, most of the youth participated in sharing ideas about the earthquake.

2.Results of the evaluation of the use of the earthquake disaster curriculum for people. Chiang Rai Province found that:

    2.1 Regarding the elements of the curriculum, it was found that the elements of the curriculum have 9 elements which are comprehensive. and is appropriate Consistent with the context of Chiang Rai Province and its use in the lives of people.

    2.2 In the process of implementing the curriculum, it was found that knowledge was integrated with direct experience. There are a variety of learning activities. Emphasis is placed on using direct experience and integrating knowledge into application.

    2.3 The people highly agreed that with the curriculum at a high level. From the interview, some people participated in the exchange about the earthquake disaster. The people were also interested in the construction of the earthquake-proof house.
