Promotion of Teachers’ Advisory Roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission

Abstract

             The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the current situation and the desirable condition and 2) to study recommendation for promotion of teachers’ advisory roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission. The population used in this research consisted of educational institution administrators and teachers, who acted as advisors in educational institutions with the total number of 820 people. The sample size was determined by Taro & Yamane's (1973) formula using stratified random sampling and 269 people were selected as the sampling group. The research instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with Index of Item Objective Congruence value at 0.67-1.00 and reliability coefficient at 0.963. The statistics used to analyze data comprised frequency percentage and mean. The research results were found that: 1. Regarding the current situation and the desirable condition of promotion of teachers’ advisory roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, the current situation of promotion of teachers’ advisory roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, on a whole, was rated at a high level, the desirable condition of promotion of teachers’ advisory roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, on a whole, was rated at a high level. 2. The recommendations for promotion of teachers’ advisory roles under Khon Kaen Vocational College, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission could be summarized on the importance as follows: Interaction with students, Assistance and co-operation with students, Student development and Guidance and Counselling
