The Development for English Listening and Speaking Skills of Grade 2 Students Using Simulation Learning Management with Multimedia Materials

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop English listening skill of Grade 2 Students using the simulation learning management with  multimedia materials to meet upper 70% mean score criterion, and 2) develop English speaking skill of Grade 2 Students using the simulation learning management with multimedia materials to reach upper 70% mean score criterion. The target group were 31 students of grade 2 in Sanambin School, studying in semester 2, 2022 academic year. The research instruments comprised: 1) 12 learning management plans within 12 hours, 2) listening skill assessment form with 20 items, 3) speaking skill assessment form covering 20 items. The investigation was a pre-experimental model with the One-Group-Posttest Design. The statistics for analyzing the data contained the percentage, mean and standard deviation.

The research findings revealed that: 1) The development of English listening skill of Grade 2 Students using the simulation learning management with multimedia materials to meet upper 70% mean score criterion in overall exposed that the listening skill mean score equaled to 12.10 with the criterion passing students equaling 80.71 of the full score, and 26 criterion passing students, valued 80.71 higher than the setting criterion. 2) The development of speaking skill of English of Grade 2 Students using the simulation learning management with multimedia materials to meet upper 70% mean score criterion in overall indicated that the speaking skill of English score equaled to 11.77 with the criterion passing students equaling 78.52 of the full score, and 24 criterion passing students, valued 78.52 higher than the setting criterion.
