Abstract

Several of Thailand’s leading universities have implemented a policy of the “English medium instruction (EMI)” development and offer to adapt to the current situation, which is an “Internationalization.” This adaptation is considered a phenomenon in various universities worldwide. Furthermore, this article aims to illustrate an overview of the EMI in higher education in Thailand and other countries in Asia. The content includes advantages, challenges, and recommendations for managing teaching and learning with EMI. Also, the overview of the above three aspects will serve as a basic guideline for the universities that need to improve the EMI to prepare learners and teachers and to develop EMI effectively in Thailand’s context.
