The Development of Analytical Thinking Skill on Geography by using Mind-Mapping for Prathomsuksa 3 Students

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop the analytical thinking of Prathomsuksa 3 students by using mind-mapping.  The target group consisted of 18, Prathomsuksa 3 students, Ban Nongku Chainongkham school. The research tools were 1) 10 lesson plans at 4.67 - 4.83 , 2) 30 items of multiple choice with 3 choices critical thinking test, for 2 cycles, the difficulty was 0.30 - 0.80, the discrimination was 0.42 - 0.83, 0.42 - 0.75  and the reliability was 0.94.  The statistics used included percentage mean and standard deviation. The research was operated by 2 cycle action research.

             The results of the research were as follows: After learning with the model, the students had increased their analytical thinking skill at 61.48%j, this result showed that it was at a fair level in the first cycle. There were 9 students who earned the lower scores than 70 percent. In the second cycle, the researcher added the cooperative learning and social media to enhance the students’ analytical thinking skill, so the these enhanced the students’ analytical skill as well as 70% for all, which achievement score at 84.81 % or it was at the high level, so the learning model with cooperative learning and the integrated social media for Prathomsuksa 3 students in the second cycle increased the students’ analytical thinking skill as well.
