Organizing Learning Activities to Promote the Attitude towards Mathematics of Mathayom 3 Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: (1) develop organizing learning activities on Single-variable linear equations to be effective for Mathayom 3 students according to the 70/70% criterion, (2) compare attitudes towards mathematics by classification before and after learning activities, (3) study the guidelines for promoting attitudes towards mathematics of Mathayom 3 students. The population included 112 students in Mathayom 3 at Thakhon Yang Pittayakhom School, Kantarawichai District, Mahasarakham Province. The sample group consisted of 80 people using group sampling. The tools used in the research included a learning management plan with an average IOC value of 4.68, the Attitude Measure for Mathematics with a classification power value ranging from 0.22–0.61 and the Interview.   The statistics used for data analysis comprised percentage, averages, and standard deviations. Data were analzes using test statistics, Independent T Testing and Analytical Depiction .The results showed that: (1) Results of the development of learning activities on the single-variable linear inequalities for Mathayom 3 students had an efficiency of 77.85/80.81, higher than the set criteria. (2) Attitudes towards mathematics of Mathayom 3 students after studying were higher than before learning using statistically significant learning activities at the level of .05. (3) Guidelines for promoting attitudes towards mathematics among Mathayom 3 students were found that teachers should motivate students to do exercises, such as grading or praising learners when they had done well, and providing examples of using mathematics in daily life.
