Causal Factors Influencing Information and Communication Technology Adoption in SMEs Hotels in Thailand

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) Factors influencing information and communication technology adoption in small and medium enterprise hotels in Thailand and 2) Information and communication technology adoption influencing small and medium enterprise hotels performance in Thailand. The sample was 212 small and medium enterprise hotels in Thailand. Using the method of multi - stage sampling. The research instrument used was 7 - level rating scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed by using the structural equation model (SEM). The finding revealed as follows causal factors influencing information and communication technology adoption in small and medium enterprise hotels in Thailand. The researcher was developed by integrating innovation and organizational theory. It is found that the model fitted with the empirical data (X 2 / df = 0.96 GFI= 0.96 AGFI = 0.91 CFI = 1.00 RMSEA = 0.00 SRMR = 0.02) by organizational and environmental factors had direct influence on information and communication technology adoption and information and communication technology adoption direct influence on operational performance. In addition to, organizational and environmental factors had indirect Influence through information and communication technology adoption in small and medium enterprise hotels in Thailand.
