A MODEL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CORE COMPETENCY OF TEACHERS BASED ON KALYANAMITTA DHAMMA OF PARIYATTIDHAMMA SCHOOL, PALI SECTION, IN THE SANGHA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION 4

Abstract

               The dissertation entitled “A Model for the Development of Core Competency of Teachers Based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma School, Pali Section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4” consisted of three objectives: 1) to study the core competency of teachers in Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4; 2) to create a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4; and 3) to assess a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4. The research was divided into three phases namely: 1) The first phase was to study the conditions of competency of teachers in Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section by collecting the data from a sample consisted of 331 students of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation (S.D.). The interviews with 17 experts were also employed by means of a structured interview; 2) The second phase was to create a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section by means of a focus group discussion with 9 experts and analyzed the gained data; and 3) The third phase was to assess a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section. The statistics used were average and standard deviation (S.D.) by 17 experts.
            From the study, it was found as follows: 1) The conditions of competency of teachers in Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4 are divided into 5 aspects as follows: 1) The focus on achievement from work implementation; 2) A good service; 3) Self-development; 4) Teamwork; 5) Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct. The overall aspect was at a high level. When considering each aspect, it was found that self-development was at the highest level with the highest average. While the focus on achievement from work implementation was at a high level with the lowest average.
               2) From a study on a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4, it was found as follows: 1) The focus on achievement from work implementation based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma. 2) Providing a good service based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma. 3) Self-development based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma. 4) Teamwork based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma. And 5) Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma
             3) The results of the assessment of a model for the development of core competency of teachers based on Kalyanaamitta Dhamma of Pariyattidhamma school, Pali section, in the Sangha Administrative Region 4 found that a model was accurate, appropriate, possible and utilized. The assessment showed the highest level in every aspect.
