THE DEVELOPMENT OF SONGKHLA OLD TOWN HERITAGE POTENTIAL TO VALUED ADD FOR OLD TOWN HISTORICAL TOURISM

Abstract

               This research is designed to study 1. Potential of tourist attractions in Songkhla old town area into 3 elements: attraction, accessibility and amenity 2. Development approach of Songkhla old town heritage potential to valued add for old town tourism. Field survey and focus group discussion of all stakeholders in old town development were used to collect data. The result showed that Songkhla old town has got historical capital appearing in form of architecture, fine art and artifact which can be valued added for historical tourism or old town tourism. Good management of this historical capital is required all together, conservation, restoration and development of historical attractions, accessibility and amenity. The arrangement of historical capital management also needs the participation of all stakeholders, particular local people living in old town in conservation and restoration attractions, maintenance all amenities and respecting all regulations supporting old town tourism.
