DEVELOPMENT OF THE CURRICULUM TO ENHANCE THE ABILITY OF CREATIVE WAASTE MANAGEMENT BY USING DESIGN THINKING

Abstract

              The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the curriculum to enhance the ability of
creative waste management by using design thinking model for high school students in non-formal and informal education center 2) to study the result of using the curriculum. Samples were high school students studying in the second semester in non-formal and informal education center. The data analyses were mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test.
               The results found that; The curriculum to enhance the ability of creative waste management by using design thinking model for high school students in non-formal and informal education center consists of 1) problems and necessities 2) curriculum objectives 3) course description 4) curriculum structure 5) learning results 6) teaching activities 7) teaching environment/ teaching aids 8) assessment and evaluation 9) curriculum conditions and The curriculum had appropriateness at the level of the high ( X = 3.96, S.D. = 0.60) and the teaching plans also had appropriateness at the level of the high. ( X = 3.90, S.D. = 0.43)
              The results of using the curriculum; The experimental group’s posttest scores were statically higher than pretest scores at the level of 0.05. The control group had significantly different scores on creative waste management after using the curriculum and before using the curriculum differently without statistical significance at the level of .05.The mean scores of the ability of creative waste management before using the curriculum between the experimental group and the control group were not significantly different at the level of 0.05.
