AN UNDERSTANDING FOR DEMOCRATIC REGIME OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN MUANG DISTRICT, LAMPANG PROVINCE

Abstract

               The purposes of this research were to study: 1) The level of understanding for democratic regime and 2) Study factors affecting democratic political understanding democratic regime of High School student in Muang District, Lampang Province by using questionnaires from the 370 High School Students are studied in 2019 of 7 schools in Mueang District, Lampang Province. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with multiple regression analysis by study factors affecting democratic political understanding.
             The results showed that the level of understanding democratic regime of High School Student in Muang District, Lampang Province, consists of: access to political news, political participation and gaining knowledge about democracy are affect the understanding for democratic regime of high school student in Muang District, Lampang Province, with the significance weight of variables in the form of standard scores equal to .700, .278 and .252 with statistical significance at the level of .01, respectively. The government should require educational institutions to focus on teaching in truly democracy which is the main subject in curriculum at high school level. Promote and provide opportunities of political discussions in family, school, and community. Encourage them participation in political activities in various forums or places and must create democratic political activities that are always, independent, free from blocking. It will make the democratic political development of country systematically, continuously and sustainably in the future.
