THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH POTENTIAL FOR TOURISM OF HORSE-CARRIAGE DRIVER IN LAMPANG PROVINCE

Abstract

               Research study the development of English language potential for tourism of horse- carriage driver in Lampang province according to the Buddhist ways. The objective were 1. To study the potential and knowledge of English for tourism of horse- carriages driver in Lampang province in accordance with the Buddhist ways. 2. To propose guidelines for developing a manual set "English for travel of horse- carriages driver in Lampang province in the Buddhist ways". This research is a qualitative research, the target group used to be a horse carriage driver operator who is a member and not a member of the Lampang Charity Association in the area of Lampang Municipality with specific numbers of 39 people and tools used as structured interviews .

               The results of the research showed that the development of English language potential for tourism of chariot- carriages driver in Lampang province according to Buddhist ways based on the research results according to the objectives: No. 1, the horse carriage driver has the potential and knowledge in English for tourism at the "moderate" level, and able to engage in a horse carriage driver that can be enjoyed in a happy and successful career and from research results according to the objectives 2 guidelines for developing a manual set, complete details and content are processed. From data analysis by interview, consists of vocabulary, idioms and conversational sentences in English, as well as Thai words prepared in full and portable versions. And horse- carriage drivers have a good attitude towards using English language manual because of the potential development of English for tourism is beneficial to career and earn more income. Resulting in person community and society the correct and appropriate changes and developments.
