THE DEVELOPMENT OF E-BOOK ON “ASEAN STUDIES” TO ENHANCE POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR STUDENTS’ LEARNING ACHIEVEMENTS

Abstract
The purposes of this study, entitled “The Development of E-Book on “ASEAN Studies” to
Enhance Political Science Major Students’ Learning Achievements in Lampang Buddhist College,
Muang District, Lampang Province”, aimed (1) to develop the e-book on “ASEAN Studies” with its
effectiveness of 80/80 provided; (2) to compare their learning achievement pretest obtained from the
implementation of e-book on “ASEAN Studies” with their posttest, and (3) to investigate their
satisfactions towards the implementation of e-book on “ASEAN Studies” conceptualized by Pornthep
Moungman and Chaiwong Promwong.
In the academic year 2015, a lesson plan on “ASEAN Studies”, a learning achievement test
on “ASEAN Studies”, quizzes, and a questionnaire on students’ satisfactions on the implementation
of e-book on “ASEAN Studies” were all conducted with thirty political science major students
enrolling in the “ASEAN Studies course” at Lampang College, Muang district, Lampang province,
selected by the sampling random technique. The data were statistically analyzed using percentage,
mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The findings of the study revealed that the development of e-book “ASEAN Studies”
designed for the political science major students’ learning achievements with its effectiveness of
80.00/89.56 was higher than that of their school standards of 80/80 provided, meanwhile their higher
learning achievements with its significant difference of 0.05 compared with both their pretest and
posttest were resulted in the implementation of e-book “ASEAN Studies”. Also, their satisfactions
towards the implementation of e-book on “ASEAN Studies”, with its mean of 4.79, and its standard
deviation of 0.34, were mostly found in terms of their teacher’s authentic instructional management,
followed by their interests, and their learning inquiries.
