LAY STUDENTS’ HEALTH BEHAVIOR OF MAHAMAKUT BUDDHIST UNIVERSITY ISAN CAMPUS MUANG DISTRICT, KHONKAEN PROVINCE

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1. to study the level of lay students’ health behavior,
2. to study the differences of internal factors affecting the lay students’ health behavior, 3. to study the differences of external factors affecting the lay students’ health behavior and 4.to suggest the way for promoting the better students’ health behavior by the use of questionnaires. All /250 subjects under stratified random sampling were participated in this study Then data was analyzed and processed by computer for percentage, mean, standard deviation and one-way ANOVA.
The results were found that: 1. The overall level of lay students’ health behavior was high. The mean of each section from high to low was spiritual development ( = 3.93), health
responsibility ( = 3.91), interpersonal relationship ( = 3.86), nutrition ( = 3.81), physical activity practicing ( = 3.79) and stress management ( = 3.78) respectively. On stress management section, the lay students’ opinion was moderate for the question taking sedative or sleeping pill, itwas shown that sometime facing the stress they took some sedative or sleeping pill for relieving it.
2. Under the differences of internal and external factors, the lay students’ health behavior was different at a significance 0.05 level. It was shown that both internal and external factors affecting the health behavior at significance 0.05 level
3. The way for promoting the health behavior 1) They should exercise properly and
consistently, 2) They should eat useful food and all 5 groups, 3) They should take rest sufficiently, 4) They should have systematic life under the procedure such as eating, drinking, getting up, sleeping and other activities. 5) They should practice Dharma and meditation regularly.
4. For suggestions: The government should set the committee and policy for leading to
make plan and project, every party must join to hold activities such as practicing in Dharma,
consumption and exercise for health, assessing every activities intermittently. The successful activities
should be honored and propagated publicly.
