Abstract

               The changing of internal and external environment, both domestic and foreign countries were unavoidable. The direction changed society economic and political trends also the fast technological advances were convenient and conducive to drive organization, then promoted efficiency in management. Therefore, each organization had to adapt and apply various methods of organizational management until met the changing conditions and survive in such conditions. There were also some organizations wanted to be the leader in competition by creating competitive advantage to the organization through various methods and processes in order to be sustainable and achieve the goals. Therefore, it was necessary to rely on strategic management in clear strategy and goal to achieve competitive advantage, efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of the organization. Especially in public sector that was considered as the large organization, it was difficult to drive the organization until achieved its goals through the process of cooperation in all sectors. Therefore, government organizations were required to manage their work with clear strategies and targets successfully management. Strategic management was one of the clear processes in organizational management, based on strategy and goals, as well as analysis of factors to achieve organizational success. Thus, the authors propose overview of strategic management in public sector as a guideline for the management of government organizations to be effective, productive, and successful.
