ETHICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINE OF THE POLICE TRAINEES AT TRAINING CENTER OF PROVINCIAL POLICE REGION 5

Abstract

              The purposes of this study, entitled “Ethical Practice Guidelines of the Police Trainees at Training Center of Provincial Police Region 5”, aimed to analyze the levels of the police trainees’ ethnics at Training Center of Provincial Police Region 5, as well as to investigate the guidelines related to the ethical principles of the police trainees based on the B.E. 2553 Police Code of Ethics and Professional Ethics (2^nd issue), which consisted of 1) the police trainees’ self-ethnical awareness, 2) their ethnical awareness with citizenship, 3) their laws awareness, and 4) their social awareness. For data collection, the samples used in this study were 154 second-batch police trainees studying in the year of 2015.

              The results of the study revealed that the police trainees’ opinions towards their ethnical working performances at Training Center of Provincial Police Region 5, with its mean of 4.29, were all rated at a highest level in terms of their ethnical awareness with citizenship with its mean of 4.43, followed by their self-ethnical awareness with its mean of 4.27, and their social awareness and laws awareness with its mean of 4.24. 

              According to the detailed suggestions, it was suggested that the provisions for the enhancement of the police trainees’ prides, self-awareness, professional ethnics, and applications of ethnical concepts to effectively managing their working performance should be all required. Moreover, not only the police trainees’ service minds and volunteering, but also their public service minds together with citizens’ social privileges, and freedom should be supported. In order to promote the police trainees’ social creditability, it was also suggested that their proper use of laws and public minds were served for citizens’ social equivalence.
