THE VALUE SOCIAL FOR MURAL PAINTING THE ROYAL TEMPLE IN LAMPANG PROVINCE

Abstract

              The purpose of this study, entitled “Social Values through Royal Temples’ Mural Paintings in Lampang Province”, aimed to explore the royal temples’ mural paintings in Lampang province. This research was based on the qualitative research, focusing on the Buddhist scriptures and social sciences. For research methodology, an in-depth interview was conducted with key informants used in this study. The data were resented with the descriptive technique. The results of this study revealed that like Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao, the Buddhist Murals related to the Boonyawatvihara Temple were described for Buddhist interpretation concerning Buddhist histories and Jatakas such as Vessantara as same as the murals in which was published about Vessantara’ s images of hell and heaven. Furthermore, two saints from Wat Phra Chedi Sao Lang gave their soul to the prince Milind. In order to be a place used for religious practices, Wat Chong Kham temple was considered a unique monastery covered with prominent Buddhist arts found in a golden temple. There were beautiful arches, churches, chapels, and temples, and its artwork was resulted in the reflection of traditions and beliefs. Also, the magnificent design was needed to glorify Buddhism, as well as their community lifestyle, culture, and tradition  And principles The Four Noble Truths, giving alms, Four Rddhippada It creates belief and practice in charitable good deeds as refraining from evil, doing good deeds, and to makes the purification mind.
