Abstract

This article aims to study “Buddhism and the phenomenon of Thai people's beliefs” found that the belief phenomenon related to the religion of Thai people is rooted from the belief of ancestors. With a mix of beliefs and lack of understanding that causes the beliefs towards religion to be expected to move away from beliefs according to Buddhism that results in credibility of everything that can be relied on for profit. Sometimes it becomes an instrument of faith. Because it is a belief that does not contain wisdom Therefore, the phenomena of belief in Buddhism can be classified in the following order: (1) the initial level of entry into the belief; using the principle of Yonisomanasikarn this is a fact that appears in Buddhism. (2) The level of reasoning. Using logic this is a fact that appears in the 4 Noble Truths and (3) the level of intelligence by using the three training principles for mental development. In order to obtain the correct knowledge, it appears in the beliefs 4. Therefore, the beliefs of 4 groups of Thai people are beliefs in healing belief in happiness belief in love and belief in karma can be analyzed according to the principles of Buddhism as follows The treatment of disease is based on the 4 Noble Truths, and the treatment of happiness is based on the happiness of the layman and monk. And the treatment of love is based on the principles of Somchiwidhamma 4, secular Dhamma 4, Brahmawihan Dhamma 4, which is a phenomenon in the belief of Thai people who believe that the treatment of diseases can be done according to the advice of Buddhism itself.
