Abstract

Drug usage among juvenile is a more significant and dangerous issue. The goal of this study was to examine the conditions that lead to juvenile using re-offending drugs, as well as to draw lessons on providing care, therapy, and rehabilitation for those who recidivate and to identify strategies for preventing recidivism in cases involving juvenile using drugs. This study used in-depth interviews with 16 key informants, including parents, counselors, training center directors, child psychologists, social workers, nurses, and repeat drug offenders among children and young people.

The study's findings indicated that three factors-family, economic, and social-are responsible for children becoming repeat offenders. Using the Baan Lom Rak project, the project to create a specific system for juvenile rehabilitation, the Strong Thai Youth project, and the project to bring good people back into society, the care and rehabilitation of jevenile were carried out upstream, midstream, and downstream in the education and training centers.  Recidivism can be avoided by emphasizing the negative effects of substance abuse and making people aware of the consequences of their actions. This can be done by promoting mental health, setting future goals, creating social opportunities, modifying attitudes, promoting education and careers, fostering family relationships, and making environmental changes. The results of the study will increase awareness of the problem in all areas and motivate juveniles to refrain from using drugs.
