DEVELOPING A THAI LANGUAGE TEACHING MODEL FOR FOREIGNERS BY ADDIE MODEL
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this study are to: 1) Create and develop a Thai language teaching model for foreigners using the ADDIE model, 2) Determine the efficacy of the Thai teaching model for foreigners using the ADDIE model, and 3) Investigate the degree to which Chinese students enrolled in Buddhist studies at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Payao Campus, are satisfied with the model. Both quantitative and qualitative research are used in this study. The sample group for this study consisted of 13 Chinese Buddhist students enrolled in an introductory Thai language course for the second semester of the academic year 2021 at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Payao campus.
This research implemented a randomized design, online instruction, a 9-unit learning management plan, and a teaching and learning management satisfaction survey. The researcher gathers the data to assess and combine the results from the multiple-choice and subjective tests. Based on conclusions made by IOC experts, the test's degree of confidence was examined. An averaging X and S.D. and frequency distribution analysis were used to investigate statistical values based on the coefficients that were acquired from instructional efficiency checks, outcomes records, questionnaires, and satisfaction assessment forms.
The research’s results
1. In order to build and develop a Thai language teaching model for foreigners using the ADDIE model, it was discovered that the model comprises 6 steps, which are as follows: Step 1: an engaging story (law of readiness); Step 2: Read and comprehend the material (law of readiness); Step 3: Discuss the reverse (law of contentment); Step 4: Understand the rules of language (laws of contentment and practice); Step 5: Enjoy Writing (law of practice); Step 6: Take the lesson test (law of satisfaction), which is a test of the knowledge of the students and evaluation of the students' teaching.
2. Using the ADDIE model to assess the efficacy of the Thai language teaching model for foreigners, it was discovered that the learning method model had a 53.58/95.35 effectiveness rating, which is very efficient by the industry standard of 80/80.
3. It was discovered that the satisfaction level of Chinese students studying Buddhism at
Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Payao Campus, with the ADDIE model's Thai language instruction for foreigners was at a fair level.
