Abstract

The researcher's goal in this thesis is to examine the human capital management strategies used by small businesses in China by gathering literature on the meaning of, value of, characteristics of, and concept of human capital. This study was a qualitative investigation that began at Today's Convenience Store, one of the oldest and most reputable convenience stores in Guangxi Province, China. Data were gathered using a questionnaire about customer satisfaction in today's online convenience stores. The informative population is consumers who purchase products and employees in the store.

The study's findings revealed that:

1) Convenience stores today still struggle to staff their establishments, with income and welfare issues serving as the primary barriers to employee retention for small businesses.

2) Guangxi lacks the economy, innovation, and unique policies that would draw workers to work in convenience stores.

3) Outdated management strategies and a lack of self-identity make it difficult to keep employees in China.
