CHARACTERISTICS OF LOCAL LEADERS EXPECTED BY PEOPLE IN UTHAI THANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The goals of this study were to: 1) investigate the qualities that residents of Uthai Thani Province anticipate in local leaders; and 2) compare the qualities that residents of Uthai Thani Province expect in local leaders as categorized by certain factors.


Quantitative research is the selected research model. The number of adults in Uthai Thani Province who are 18 years of age or older and eligible to vote is 324,332. Using Taro Yamane's formula and a sample size of 384 individuals, the population was calculated. A 5-point estimating scale questionnaire with 30 items and a reliability score of 0.95 was the tool used to collect the data. Each article had a classification power between 0.63 and 0.93, including the version. Statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, and F-test were employed to examine the data.


The outcomes demonstrated that: 1) the qualities of local leaders that people in Uthai Thani Province generally expected were at a high level were indeed present. When each factor was taken into account separately, it was discovered that the averages, which were listed from highest to lowest averages, were at a high level in all areas, including morality, knowledge, ability, vision, personal characteristics, and personal factors, and 2) People of diverse sexes, ages, and educational levels were found when the qualities of local leaders expected by the people of Uthai Thani Province were compared and categorized by various personal aspects. Regarding the characteristics of local leaders that people in Uthai Thani Province anticipated in every way, there were no variations in perspectives.
