AN IMPORTANT TRADITIONAL IDENTITY OF MEUANG PHAYAO

Abstract
The main goals of this study were to 1) gather data on the significant traditions of Phayao City and 2) build a database on these traditions. In this qualitative and documentary study, key informants were interviewed as part of organized in-depth interviews to gather information about significant traditions in Phayao Province from primary and secondary sources. Both closed-ended and open-ended questions are included. A total of 24 key informants were interviewed, including monks, Phayao Province cultural officers, the chairman of the cultural committee, temple deacons, and other organizations consisting of local wisdom teachers, cultural scholars, and young people in Phayao Province's nine districts, including Muang District, Dockhamtai District, Chiang Kham District, Chiang Muan District, Chun District, Phu Sang District, Phu Kam Yao District, and Mae Jai District.
The overall context of Phayao City revealed that, 1) the majority of Phayao Province's lands were plateaus and mountains, with Phayao Lake serving as a significant natural water source. Phayao's landscape, customs, and culture represent a priceless heritage for the preservation of customs and cultures that are a result of the creations and knowledge that the people of Phayao have consistently practiced over time. These customs and cultures include festivals, customs, and customs that are observed every month and reflect the Buddhist way of life, beliefs, and faith in Phra Chao Tone Luang, the ancient and priceless Buddha of Phayao. 2) It was discovered that Phayao had routine practices when it came to their culture. months are similar to those in Lanna, having a ritual that occurs in 12 months, specifically, the Tan Lua Hing Pai Phra Chao ritual, Poi Bua ceremony, Poi Kao Sangk ceremony, Songkran Festival, Pad Peng Wai Sa Phra Chao Ton Luang ceremony, to raise the phee khun nam up ceremony, Khao Phan Sa ceremony, Sukhwan; The blessing ceremony for buffalo, Tan Salak; food ticket of Thai Buddhist for dedicates to monks ceremony, Katinna ceremony, The Traditional Mahajati Preaching, to practice meditation under trees in the forest of monks ceremony, 3. Identity of Cultural Traditions of Phayao province: The research identifies Pad Peng Wai Sa Phra Chao Ton Luang ceremony, preserving Tai Lue's culture as an essential and distinctive identity tradition while performing candle-lit rituals along the river. It is a significant tradition and an outstandingly unique cultural icon. It results from the community's efforts to work together and stay united, along with the strength of their dedication to Buddhism, and becomes a distinctive focal point that serves as the province of Phayao's cultural symbol.
