A Study and development of learning resources in Surat Thani Province

Abstract

A Study and development of learning resources in Surat Thani Province aimed 1) to study and select learning resources for students studying in basic education, and 2) to develop and propose the use of learning resources in the province for teachers in basic education. To collect the data, the researcher employed the methods of documentary research and the field observation in learning areas around the provinces. Furthermore, the interviews with eight experts and related informants, also the three educational specialists
were conducted in order to figure out the guideline to develop the use of main learning resources in the province. The study revealed that the learning resources in Surat Thani Province could be classified into nine categories including museums, Buddhist temples, archaeological sites, natural resources, dam, Sufficiency Economy demonstration site, the riverside way of life and the mangrove conservation, local careers, local traditions and rituals. According to the interviews with the related informants and the specialists in order to evaluate the guideline to develop the learning resources for students studying in basic education level in Surat Thani province in the following aspects: 1) the contents and the learning standards conform to each learning resource, 2) the learning objectives accord with each learning resource, 3) the learning activities are
designed based on the learning objectives., 4) the worksheets and leaning materials are created based on learning activities, 5) the worksheets and learning materials are appropriate for the students in each levels., 6) the assessment are proper and effective, 7) the contents shown in each leaning resource are sufficient for fundamental study., and 8) the guideline for the use of the learning resources is practical for the teachers, the evaluating result was averagely high and highest both for overall and each aspect of the guideline.
