Roles of School Administrators in Promoting Information Technology Usage for Academic Administration in KHAO SAM YOD Schools Cluster, Lopburi Province

The objectives of this research were 1) to study conditions and problems of using Information Technology for academic administration in Khao Sam Yot Schools Cluster, Lopburi Province; 2) to study roles of school administrators in promoting Information Technology usage for academic administration in this school cluster, and 3) to synthesize recommendations for promoting Information Technology for academic administration in this school cluster. The sample included 19 school administrators and 148 teachers selected by Stratified Random Sampling for the survey and nine interviewees selected by Purposive Sampling. Research instruments were a five-point scale questionnaire with Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability Coefficient of 0.936 and an interview guide for the Semi-structured Interview. Statistics used for data analyses were Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation. Qualitative data were analyzed by Thematic Analysis.
The research revealed that in Khao Sam Yot School Cluster: 1) the use of Information Technology for academic administration is at the highest level while the problem of using Information Technology for academic administration is at the low level; 2) the roles of school administrators in promoting Information Technology usage for academic administration is at the highest level; and 3) the recommendations for promoting Information Technology usage for academic administration in this school cluster included periodic inspection of computers and equipment, using internal network for maximizing system’s efficiency, and training of personnel.
