Effects of Learning Activities by Using SSCS Model with Representatives on Mathematics Problem Solving Abilities and Learning Achievements on Probabilities of Mathayomsuksa III Students
Keywords:
SSCS model, representation, ability in problem solving, learning achievementAbstract
The purposes of this research were 1) to study ability in mathematical problems solving of Mathayomsuksa three students on Probability by using SSCS model and Representation and 2) to study mathematics learning achievement of Mathayomsuksa three students on Probability by using SSCS model and Representation.
The sample was 40 Mathayomsuksa three students of one classroom at Nakhon Sawan School in the second semester of the academic year 2019 that was selected by cluster random sampling from 12 classrooms. The instruments in data collection consisted of 10 lesson plans on Probability by using SSCS model and Representation, ability evaluation forms in solving mathematical problems on Probability, and mathematics learning achievement test on Probability. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were used for analyzing data.
The research results showed that 1) the students had ability in mathematics problem solving on Probability at the good level. and 2) mathematics learning achievement of students after learning was higher than 70% at the .05 level of significance.
