Follow Up Study of Training Program for the Head of Administrative Divisions Ministry of Education and Sports in Laos

This research objective was to follow up the training program for the heads of Administrative Division, Ministry of Education and Sports in Laos. The trainees were assessed in 6 aspects: leadership, and administration knowledge, strategic planning, financial and human resource management, monitoring and evaluation, and the impacts on other areas. The target population included two batches of 33 participants with training experience, such as first on 2014 title 17, second on 2016 title 16, and was currently working in the Ministry of Education and Sports, and 33 directors who had worked at least for 1 year with those having trained, and 99 colleagues or subordinators. The instruments used in data collection were questionnaires and interviews. The data was analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, and content analysis. The results were derived from the specified criteria i.e. the mean of the 5-rating scale over 3.51 to evaluate leadership all the 5 Score, 60% of the Yes/No checklist to evaluate administration knowledge, The research results indicated that the participants with training experience had a high level of leadership behavior, and passed the 60% criterion in all the aspects of administration knowledge, strategic planning, financial and human resources management, monitoring and evaluation. The impact of the training was that the participants were honored by their administrators, confided to be lecturers in the related areas, joined a team to monitor and evaluate educational projects, and seven of them were promoted from the position of the vice head of administrators to the head of administrators. Suggestions for further training Project directors should establish plans for activities that focus on applicability to work rather than theories, for study trips, for more topics related to curricular administration and its development, as well as for support to those with training experience to apply their knowledge to their workplace. training is planning activity and were emphasis on knowledge that can be used in real work rather than theory.
