Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study competencies, compare the level of competencies and study the guidelines of enhancing competencies of 7-Eleven convenience store managers for corporate and franchise in Pattaya District, Chon Buri Province. The sample group used in this study, were 220 people from store managers of corporate and franchise in Pattaya District, Chon Buri Province. The competency assessment were used as skill evaluation form and competency development questionnaire. The data were statistically analyzed by
percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and content analysis. The results of this research showed that the competencies of 7-Eleven convenience store managers for corporate and franchise in Pattaya District, Chon Buri Province, were at a high level with mean = 3.68, standard deviation = 0.50. There was no difference in competencies between corporate and franchise store managers statistically significant at the 0.05 level. The competency development was divided into two dimensions. Task focus was related to achieving organizational goals by emphasizing on developing knowledge and skills according to organizational business and process. People focus was related to achieving customer satisfaction by emphasizing on developing self, mindset and good role modeling for teamwork - based atmosphere.
