Abstract

The objectives of this research were to examine students’ attitudes and factors related to students’ attitudes toward home economics profession of vocational college students in Southern Institution Region 1. The sample of 350 vocational college students studying home economics in Southern Institution Region 1, were used by quota sampling. Questionnaires were used for the data collection. Frequency, Mean, Percentage, and Standard Deviation were used in analyzing the data collected. Pearson Product-moment correlation coefficient
The findings revealed that more than three fourths of the students were females. More than three fifths were second year students. Their average grades were 2.98. They understood teaching learning process at a very good level. They were informed about information of home economics at a low level. Their attitudes toward home economics profession were at a good level. The study on factors related to students’ attitudes toward home economics profession revealed that students’ basic information, understanding of teaching learning process, and acquiring home economics’ information of the students were significantly related to their attitudes toward home economics profession (p < .01).
