Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop e-book based on self-learning concept for vocational certificate students. In this research, the e-book entitled “Geometric Dimensioning” was created and evaluated its performance for using with 21 first year vocational certificate students in one of the vocational education schools in Bangsue District, Bangkok. The results revealed that there were 20 students having the test score below the
standard and 1 student having the test score at “satisfactory” level in the pretest examination. However, the number of students having the score lower than the standard was decreased to 11 in the post-examination test. The number of students with the “satisfactory” score was increased to 8. Moreover, there were 2 students having the score at “good” level. From the study, it was found that some students still got the post-test score below
the standard. This might be due to the difference in learning capability of individual students. Another reason was that the students were familiar with the conventional class room as a learning method than self-learning method. However, from this study, it was observed that the fabricated e-book was received the student satisfactory level of “good” and above.
