The Role of Organizational Culture that affects to High Performance in Thai Private Universities Administration

This paper was a qualitative research aiming at exploring how the organizational culture factors affect the performance of Thai private universities administration. The method approach data triangulation from the study of documents, partial observation and individual in-depth interview was conducted by which 2 groups of interviewees were
selected. The first group one consisted of 5 highly qualified individuals and high-ranked executives who formulated policies, and regulated the quality of education standards. The second group comprised of 13 executives, academics, alumni, and employers from 3 sampled private universities. The study found that organizational culture played a crucial role in promoting the high performance management practices of Thai private universities. Basically, the roles of organizational culture affecting the level of performance of managerial practices are threefold, one of which was the conceptual thinking reflecting through value, belief, and respect between organization members.
Secondly, the behavioral approach of organizational culture referred to the expression model, communication, methods, service of organization members. Lastly, the observable dimension of organizational culture centered around a number of elements of the organizational environments, educational buildings, and educational materials.
Each role has different symbolic patterns in content and context that help define a level of high performance of Thai private universities.
