Management and Studention Opinions of Students in Commercial Dual Curriculum in Retailing Program of the Schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission

Abstract

This research aimed to study; 1) management of commercial dual Curriculum in retailing Program of the schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission, and 2) the students’ opinion towards management of commercial dual Curriculum in retailing Program of the schools under the Office of Basic Education Commission. The research selected pilot-schools providing commercial dual program in retailing, were
Mattayom Watnongchok School and Matthayom Wat Daokanong School, as units of study in this research. The research instruments comprised of semi-structured interviews and questionnaire. Data were analyzed through frequency counts, percentage, mean, standard deviation and contents analysis. The result revealed as the
followings: 1) Mattayom Watnongchok School: there were problems occurred regarding personnel preparation on dual program management and inappropriate way of school classes and apprenticeship scheduling brought about problem in transferring credits for students. For Matthayom Wat Daokanong Schoo: there was good management on commercial dual program in retailing. The staffs have awareness and
comprehension towards commercial dual program management and have planned school classes and apprenticeship scheduling appropriately. Eventually, students were being able to transfer their credits. 2) The students’ opinions towards management of commercial dual Curriculum in retailing Program showed that Students of Mattayom Watnongchok School rated at ‘high level’ on curriculum management, instruction,
practicum, and measurement and evaluation, but ‘Highest Level’ on practicum supervision and monitoring, while students of Matthayom Wat Daokanong School rated at ‘high level’ in all topics.
