English Preparation TestAbstract
The objectives of this research were to 1) develop the English Preparation Test for Mathayomsuksa 1 Students in Kasetsart University Laboratory School, Center For Educational Research and Development. 2) create the standard norms of English Preparation Test for Mathayomsuksa 1 Students in Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development Mathayomsuksa 1 Students in Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development were defined as the population of the study and the preparation test for Mathayom 1 Students in Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development was selected as the appropriate research tool. Data analysis included average scores, standard deviation, and reliability. It employs Kuder Richardson’s
method, K.R.20 and Cronbach’s method, Alpha Coefficient to find out standard norms through normalized T- Score. The results of the research
showed that the content validity drawn from 3 parts of the test has Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) between 0.50 and 1.00 which was considered to have construct validity. The correlation between item scores and total scores was between 0.42 and 0.69. The difficulty index of 3 parts of the test range was between0.20 and 0.80and the discrimination between 0.20. The reliability of 3 parts of the test was equal to 0.77 and 0.80. The normalized T – Score measured from the cognitive ability test,
which later was used to set standard norms, was found to be between 23 and 72. Normalized –Score 50 was equal to 24 true score.
