The purposes of this research were 1) to study mathematics learning achievement of mathayomsuksa three students on “Surface Area and Volume” by using heuristics problem solving, 2) to study mathematics word problem solving ability of mathayomsuksa three students on “Surface Area and Volume” by using heuristics problem solving, and 3) to study students’ opinion related to learning management on “Surface Area and Volume” by using heuristics problem solving. The sample was 29 mathayomsuksa three students of one classroom at Watjuntrawat (Sukprasarnrat) School in the first semester of academic year 2016 that was selected by cluster random sampling from 8 classrooms. The instruments in data collection consisted of 14 mathematics lesson plans on “Surface Area and Volume”, mathematics learning achievement test, ability evaluation forms in solving mathematics word problems, and students’ opinion questionnaire toward learning management on “Surface Area and Volume” by using heuristics problem solving. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test were used for analyzing data.
The research results showed that the mathematics learning achievement of students on “Surface Area and Volume” after learning was higher than before learning and higher than 60% at the .05 level of significance. The students had ability in the mathematics word problem solving on “Surface Area and Volume” by using heuristics problem solving at the “good” level. Almost all students strongly agreed that the learning management was appropriate
