Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effects of using the knowledge enhancement
package on balance literacy reading approach, including the reading readiness in preschool children and reading skills in preschool children, for parents on reading of preschool children. The target group included 10 children ranging in ages between 4-5 years old, studying in kindergarten level 1 in the second semester 2015 at Anuban Sing Burischool by
purposive sampling Selection, Sing Buri Primary Education Service Area Office and 10 parents. The instruments in this research were the knowledge enhancement package on balance literacy reading approach for parents on reading of preschool children, the manual of knowledge enhancement package, the observation checklist for reading behaviors of preschool children and the parents’ test on balance literacy reading in reading development for preschool children. The obtained data was analyzed by Mean and Standard Deviation
for quantitative data and by content analysis for qualitative data. The results showed that the children whose parents used the knowledge enhancement package had higher posttest average score than the pretest. In addition, the parents had higher posttest average score on balance literacy reading of preschool children knowledge than the pretest. The children were more interested in reading, preferred to listen to parents’ reading, and borrowed books from the book center to read at home. Young children had knowledge of using and the alphabets.
