Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study of mathematical problem solving and reasoning abilities on prism and cylinder of Mathayomsuksa two students by problem – based learning management.

The target group was 40 Mathayomsuksa 2nd  students of one classroom at a school of the Secondary Area Office One in Bangkok, in the second semester of academic year 2019. The instruments in data collection were consisted of 9 lesson plans on prism and cylinder by using problem – base learning, the mathematical problem solving ability test on prism and cylinder, and the mathematical reasoning ability test on prism and cylinder. Percentage, mean and standard deviation were used for analyzing data.

The research results showed that the students mathematical problem solving and reasoning abilities on prism and cylinder were higher than criteria 60%.
