Using teaching techniques of social science teachers at Kasetsart University During the first COVID outbreak in the country

Abstract

This research study aimed to 1) study teaching
experience during the first Covid-19 epidemic, 2) study
the need to develop skills in using technology and
online teaching techniques, and 3) study management
guidelines teach online for the excellence of Kasetsart
University. The research was designed by creating an

online questionnaire sent to the social science
professors listed in the encyclopedia document. There
were 64 responses, analyzed data by frequency
distribution, percentage determination, interpretation,
descriptive survey results, and interviews. To process
teaching experience, and reflect the development of
online teaching in this era as an example of teaching
management that has entered a New Normal in the
future.
The study results showed that 64teachers in
the final semester had 56 technology users,
accounting for 87.5%. The top two teaching
techniques used were live teaching through
software and not recorded as a video clip to watch
back, accounting for 56.3%, followed by live
teaching through software a video clip to watch
back, accounting for 17.2%. Need to develop skills
using technology and online teaching techniques
found that the teachers of Kasetsart University
require support in 3 areas: 1) increasing the teacher's
online skills 2) increasing the IT personnel who have
sufficient expertise, and 3) provide a suitable place
for online teaching for the development of online
teaching and learning for the excellence of Kasetsart
University. From an interview with five instructors
who also answered an online questionnaire.
Suggested to organize a teaching and learning model
Hybrid Learning, which is learning from online media
together with class discussions, organize training
courses on the use of media, programs for thorough
online teaching and to organize a complete
exchange of knowledge between teachers in the
university.
