Abstract

The research aimed 1) to study the current states and the desired states of academic administration to develop students’ creative thinking in schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1, and 2) to propose the guidelines for academic administration to develop students’ creative thinking in schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1. The research was the mixed one. As the quantitative research, the sample group included directors and teachers numbering 360 from schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1. It was randomized with Stratified Random Sampling by schools’ size, collected data by the questionnaire, got data analysis by mean and standard deviation, then figured data out for ‘Modified Priority Need Index’ (PNI modified). In the qualitative research, collecting data was from 7 key informant’ interview in order to make the content analysis  including evaluation of the suitability and possibility of guidelines for academic administration to develop  students’ creative thinking. The data from 5 school directors was analyzed by mean, standard deviation and data analysis. The research findings were: 1. Modified Priority Need Index of academic administration to develop students’ creative thinking in schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1 was found at the highest level in the innovative media and education technology development. The following in order are the education measurement and evaluation, curriculum administration, educational supervision, and instructional practices. 2. The guidelines for academic administration to develop students’ creative thinking in schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Office 1, as the PIE Model management; include P-Plan, I-Implementation, and E-Evaluation, was suitable and possible at  the highest level.
