Family Counseling Model for Guidance Teachers

Abstract

Many problems arise, for example,
(1) academic problems: choosing a study plan, selecting an additional subject, improving academic performance, hating the subjects studied, and hating teachers, (2) human relationship problems: arguing with parents, arguing with friends, arguing with a boyfriend, (3) occupational problems: career planning, (4) financial problems: money to cover the cost, finding a part-time job, and (5) other personal problems: health problems, friendship, and mental health problems. When the guidance teacher studies the problems, mostly found that cause of the problems is family. Therefore, student counseling should focus on family counseling as well. Family counseling is another way to prevent and resolve such problems effectively. This article would like to introduce models of family counseling, such as Family System Counseling, Structural Family Counseling, Behavior and Cognitive Family Counseling, and Experiential / Humanist Family Counseling. Therefore, the guidance teacher able to provide family counseling in helping students appropriately to student's family.
